That’s right. Robots. This week, I had the chance to watch a great selection of a few interesting movies. I will be discussing Big Hero 6, RoboCop (2014) and Earth to Echo.

BigHero6

Big Hero 6

What did I like about it?

Superhero meets Disney with a Stan Lee cameo. Even though the characters didn’t have any powers, their suits do enough justice to make it work and fun to watch. Easy to watch and not confusing. Read like a comic on-screen.

What did I dislike about it?

It was a little predictable but still enjoyable. Where are the sequels?

Would I buy/watch again?

Yes. Worthy enough to be in my collection.

Recommend?

Yes. Any comic and Disney fan would love it. Truly everyone should see give this film a try.

Last Words?

Would to see more development with the secondary characters, but it still works. Overall impressed with the film. It left me wanting more.

Robocop

RoboCop (2014)

What did I like about it?

Samuel L. Jackson. Also, it was nice to see RoboCop back on the big screen. The suit didn’t bother me as much as I thought it would.

What did I dislike about it?

This film felt like it could have been worse. WAY worse. It also was lacking in parts everywhere.

Would I buy/watch again?

No. Once was enough.

Recommend?

If you were a fan of the originals, yes and no. I remember the originals and enjoyed them but was left feeling disappointed with this film.

Last Words?

I understand that the studios of Hollywood want to reboot and remake certain films to bring them back to the limelight. Also, there are some movies that should just be left alone. Could this be one of them? Yes and no. This film could have been better.

EarthtoEcho

Earth to Echo

What did I like about it?

It reminds me of E.T. and The Goonies in a way. It was enjoyable and interesting. Echo was adorable. The ending was pretty cool.

What did I dislike about it?

It wasn’t a bad film, nor was it great. Curfew? The power of film has allowed these young kids to run around without anyone noticing. The biker bar scene. That bothered me. Plus the diner scene in a way.

Would I buy/watch again?

Yes and no. Indecisive.

Recommend?

If you were a fan of E.T. and The Goonies, then yes. Looking for something different to watch with aliens and robots, maybe. Get bored quick or can’t handle shaking cams, then no.

Last Words?

This home video style and family friendly movie was a little better than I expected. It was a wild card for me.
